$5 Wine @ Mignon

I decided to add a little culture to my life and check out Artwalk last week in Downtown.  However, soon after starting off down the block, I realized the ‘art’ part of the night was conflicting with my internal need to get drunk+fat and the outing ultimately turned into a bar/food truck walk…oops.  I guess culture and Finer Things LA just aren’t meant to mix.   We did however discover a great boozy deal going on, which validated our detour from Artwalk.

Mignon, located on 6^th and Main is pouring $5 wines by the glass all month long.   Ok, I know it’s already December 14^th, but whatever – that’s still 2 more weeks for you winos!

Mignon is a fairly new wine-bar located near Cole’s; the space is small and I loved the set-up.  It’s basically one room with a wrap-around counter, the ‘kitchen’ is located in the middle of the counter so everything is made in front of you – no spitting in your food here. 

The $5 pours we had were pretty great – 1 tried 2 different whites that I loved.  In addition to their $5 pours (which are all night), Mignon also has a happy hour Monday-Saturday from 5-7pm and all day on Sundays, during which you can get some bites with your wine for $5/plate.  We didn’t try any of the food since we were saving up our appetites for the food trucks, but the plates sounded pretty tasty and were everything you would want at a wine bar – meat, cheese, crostini etc.
