This Santa Monica spot’s older sister (Josie) has been on our list of places to try for years now. But its a bit spendy for our nearly-empty wallets. Then came along Next Door by Josie, and that got us a little closer to the reality of trying the delicious food by chef/owner Josie Le Balch. But still, our wallets are nearly empty, and the drive from WeHo was far enough to create excuses for not going. Now we learn of happy hour and really cannot justify such an excuse any longer.
We must try this spot.

For those curious: the beer list includes four great options, ranging from Stone pale ale, to an 8%abv Hyperion stout (more bang for your buck!) The wines span from prosecco to rose to a couple nice red and white options and will only set you back $5 a pop. And the cocktails all sound fantastic: ‘havanna sidecar’, ‘cucumber collins’ ‘the queen of the desert’. Look up the ingredients on their website, all yum.
As far as food is concerned, the list includes intriguing items like deviled eggs with duck cracklin’, goat cheese and tomoato brulee, and beer and bacon caramel corn.
